2027: I’ve Made Up My Mind on Tinubu’s Re-election — Gov. Nwifuru
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
From Nabob Ogbonna, Abakaliki
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has declared his firm support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor stated that his decision is based on what he described as the President’s demonstrated commitment to Ebonyi State through the initiation and execution of key projects.
Nwifuru made this known during the solemnisation of the holy matrimony between his younger brother, Paulinus Nwifuru, and his bride, Immaculata, at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki.
He further assured the people that he would neither impose candidates on them in the forthcoming general elections nor engage in vote-buying practices.
The governor also advised political aspirants to conduct themselves responsibly, urging them to adhere strictly to established rules and to be mindful of their words and actions in order to avoid overheating the political atmosphere.
According to him:
“I have not made up my mind to support anybody except President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has demonstrated love and support for us as a state.
“The ruling APC has only one presidential candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and he remains our candidate.
“As for other positions, leadership ultimately rests in God’s hands. Let us remain calm and humble. I will not impose any candidate on the people.”
Nwifuru further disclosed that he would soon convene meetings with key stakeholders across the state to strategize on ensuring a smooth and credible electoral process.
“We will commence zonal meetings on Wednesday, continuing through Thursday and Friday, by which time I expect to have concluded consultations with leaders across the state.
“We will deliberate on positions including the Senate, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly, and the governorship.
“However, the presidential position will not be part of our discussions, as that is already settled.
“He is the only President who has initiated a project here and will also commission it. We are giving him one hundred percent of our votes,” the governor stated.
