By Chief Christian Onyeka, Awka

Electorates in Anambra State, particularly from the Central Senatorial Zone have passionately appealed to members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to rally behind Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, popularly known as “Onye Ndozi,” by voting massively to secure his emergence as the party’s senatorial flag bearer for Anambra Central in the 2027 general elections.

The appeal was made on Wednesday by members of the Coalition for Leadership by Example (CLE), a political advocacy group committed to promoting informed civic participation and encouraging citizens to make responsible political choices.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, its chairman, Engr. Chukwuemeka Ibezim, stated that their endorsement of Nwankwo is rooted in what he described as the lawmaker’s “exceptional and measurable performance” during his tenure representing the Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Engr. Ibezim, a university academic, elaborated that Nwankwo has distinguished himself as a focused, disciplined, and results-driven public servant whose leadership style reflects consistency, accountability, and a deep commitment to grassroots development.

According to him, “Hon. Nwankwo remains a widely respected political figure whose track record is defined by impactful constituency projects that have significantly improved the quality of life of not only his immediate constituents but also citizens across Anambra State.”

He further noted that Nwankwo institutionalized an annual calendar for the distribution of social support interventions aimed at alleviating economic hardship and empowering vulnerable groups.

These interventions, he said, include scholarships, free medical outreach programmes, educational materials such as exercise books, and vocational support tools including grinding machines, sewing machines, barbing and hairdressing equipment, as well as vehicles for small-scale transportation businesses.

“In addition,” Ibezim continued, “he has facilitated the distribution of welding kits, motorcycles, and tricycles (popularly known as Keke), all strategically targeted at engaging young people in productive ventures and reducing their exposure to crime and other anti-social activities.”

Highlighting further achievements, the CLE chairman credited Nwankwo with attracting key federal projects to the constituency, including the establishment of a Federal College of Agriculture and the development of an ICT and communications laboratory—initiatives he described as critical investments in human capital development and technological advancement.

Engr. Ibezim concluded by urging APGA members to translate this demonstrated performance into political support by voting overwhelmingly for Nwankwo during the party’s forthcoming primary election.

He added that the coalition has already intensified grassroots mobilization and voter sensitization efforts across the senatorial district to consolidate support for his candidacy.
