2027: APGA Clears 155 Aspirants for State, NASS Primaries

I’mThe All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has cleared a total of 155 aspirants to participate in its primary elections for the Senate, House of Representatives, and Anambra State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A breakdown of the figure shows that eight aspirants were cleared for the Senatorial primary elections, while 40 aspirants were approved to contest the House of Representatives primaries.
Similarly, 107 aspirants were cleared for the Anambra State House of Assembly primary elections.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the successful aspirants were directed to visit the party’s zonal headquarters in Awka on Monday, May 18, 2026, to collect their nomination forms.
“The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) hereby publishes the list of successfully screened aspirants for the 2026 Primary Elections in Anambra State,” the statement read.
It further stated: “All successful aspirants whose names appear on the list are directed to proceed to the party’s Regional Office in Awka on Monday, May 18, 2026, to collect their nomination forms.”
Opara also disclosed that the sale of nomination forms would close on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, urging all aspirants to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.
“Please note that the sale of nomination forms shall close on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Aspirants are advised to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe,” he said.
The statement added that the party’s National Working Committee congratulated all the successful aspirants and wished them success in the forthcoming primaries.
“The National Working Committee congratulates all successful aspirants on this milestone. We wish you the very best as you proceed to the Primary Elections,” the statement added.
