The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has urged residents to embrace natural foods instead of highly processed alternatives as part of efforts to promote healthier lifestyles.
Dr. Soludo noted that consuming natural foods helps reduce the risk of many lifestyle-related diseases, strengthens the immune system, improves digestion, supports the maintenance of a healthy body weight, and provides the energy needed for daily activities.
The governor’s wife, who is also the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, said one of the greatest gifts people can give their bodies is a return to nature through healthy eating habits.
She explained that local fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, roots, and tubers are rich in the essential nutrients the body needs to remain healthy and strong.
According to her, “When we choose natural foods over highly processed ones, we reduce the risk of many lifestyle diseases, boost our immunity, improve digestion, maintain a healthy body weight, and enjoy more energy for our daily activities.”
She further stressed that healthy eating is not about consuming expensive meals or following strict diets, but about making simple and wise food choices every day.
“Let us embrace the goodness of nature, fill our plates with wholesome foods, and remember that every healthy meal is an investment in a longer, stronger, and happier life.”she stated.
She ended her message by wishing everyone a productive week, saying, “Have a great week, everyone.”
