Anambra NDE Boss Urges Youths to Register for Renewed Hope Jobs
The Anambra State Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Pastor Don Anaba, has called on unemployed youths across the 326 political wards in the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State to register for the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), which is aimed at equipping beneficiaries with market-driven vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
The call follows the Federal Government’s approval of the training of 26,961 unemployed Nigerians under Phase III of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), a nationwide programme designed to promote job creation, self-employment, and economic empowerment.
The Federal Government recently unveiled the online registration portal for the third phase of the initiative, which is intended to provide unemployed Nigerians with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills that are relevant to today’s labour market.
Pastor Don Anaba made the appeal in a statement issued on Saturday to journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
According to him, the 26,961 beneficiaries will be selected from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with Anambra State expected to have its fair share of participants.
He explained that successful applicants would receive training in more than 70 market-driven vocational and entrepreneurial trades aimed at improving employability, promoting self-reliance, and supporting sustainable economic development.
The Anambra NDE Coordinator further disclosed that graduates from previous phases of the programme would be resettled with starter packs, work tools, and equipment upon the successful completion of their training.
He noted that the resettlement package forms part of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that beneficiaries become self-employed and financially independent after acquiring the necessary skills.
Pastor Don Anaba described the initiative as another demonstration of the Federal Government’s determination to tackle unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship, and stimulate grassroots economic growth across the country, including Anambra State.
He noted that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, officially unveiled the online registration portal in Abuja on Thursday.
According to him,the Minister described the initiative as a major component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to equip Nigerians with practical, demand-driven skills that will enable them to become self-reliant, productive, and economically empowered.
The statement added that the Minister said beneficiaries will be selected from all 8,809 political wards across the country to ensure fairness, inclusiveness, and equitable distribution of opportunities.
He explained that the ward-based selection process is intended to ensure that the programme reaches grassroots communities, allowing unemployed Nigerians in both rural and urban areas to benefit from the intervention.
Dr. Dingyadi, however, acknowledged concerns raised by beneficiaries of previous phases over delays in the payment of stipends and the distribution of resettlement packages.
He attributed the delays to funding constraints but assured beneficiaries that the Ministry was working closely with relevant government agencies to facilitate the release of the required funds and settle all outstanding obligations.
