Anambra:Ekwunife Charges APC Members to Unite, Mobilise for Sweeping Victory in 2027

The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has called on party faithful to remain united and work collectively to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.

Ekwunife urged leaders at the various wards across the senatorial district to return to their respective wards, reconcile aggrieved members, and rebuild the party as one united family ahead of the elections.

The former senator gave the charge during the Anambra Central Senatorial District stakeholders’ meeting held in Awka on Friday.

According to her, there is nothing to be gained from division within the party, stressing the need for a united front if the APC is to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

Ekwunife, who previously served in the House of Representatives and the Senate, said her records in public office demonstrated her capacity to effectively represent the people of Anambra State.

She maintained that her previous legislative experience had given her a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people, adding that her achievements while in office remained available for the electorate to assess.

The APC senatorial candidate also warned against allowing intimidation to undermine the party’s campaign and electoral activities, urging members to remain confident and focused on victory.

“Nobody should be intimidated in this election in Anambra State. We are going for victory. Let us go out to win,” she said.

According to Ekwunife, the APC campaign would be grassroots-driven and comprehensive, involving extensive mobilisation from community to community and from household to household.

She said the party would take its campaign to the streets, markets, homes, towns and wards, while engaging men, women and youths directly in order to persuade voters and consolidate support for the APC.

She urged party faithful to work tirelessly to ensure the election of APC candidates at all levels, including the House of Representatives and the Senate, stressing that a strong presence of elected APC representatives would strengthen the party and provide greater opportunities for its members and supporters.

“If you discover that there is division in your ward, report it because it will affect you and your ward. We have one party, and we must work from bottom to top and top to bottom. Our party campaign organisation,we are all one. We must work together. All we need is progress,” she said.

Ekwunife further described political parties as vehicles through which political aspirations are achieved, stressing that party members have a critical responsibility to communicate the party’s programmes, achievements and vision to the electorate.

She said APC members must take ownership of the party at the grassroots and actively convince voters to support its candidates rather than relying solely on campaign rallies or political structures.

The former federal lawmaker expressed optimism that the APC had a strong chance of winning the 2027 elections, citing the party’s control of the Federal Government and what she described as the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

She argued that the APC’s position as the ruling party, coupled with its grassroots empowerment programmes and political structures, provided a strong platform for electoral victory.

Ekwunife said the party had the capacity to win the election but cautioned members against complacency.

“We have the capacity to win this election, and we must accept that first. We will not sit back and allow other parties to intimidate us in this election,” she said.

According to her, the APC would embark on an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign covering every segment of the electorate.

“We are in this race to go house to house, Rep, Senate door to door, market to market, town to town, ward to ward, man to man, woman to woman and youth to youth to win the election,” she said.

She declared that the party’s objective was to secure victory across all elective positions in the 2027 elections, urging members to remain committed to the collective interest of the APC.

“Our slogan is top to bottom and bottom to top, and we are running for all positions and we will win all positions. We are not singling anybody out.
“We are not going for this election to vote for this party and vote for another party. It will be APC all through,” she said.

Ekwunife, however, warned members against actions capable of undermining the party’s electoral prospects, urging anyone who was unwilling to support the APC to refrain from sabotaging its campaign.

“Anyone that does not want the APC should leave us, and please report anyone that is not working for us to the party leadership because we cannot tolerate that anymore.

“We cannot go with internal enemies in this election. If you are not ready to make us win, we will not allow you to make us lose. It is not possible at all,” she said.

She announced plans to constitute ward campaign councils to strengthen coordination, mobilisation and communication across the senatorial district.

“We are going to constitute a ward campaign council so that we will work as one family, from the wards to the senatorial zone,” she added.

Also speaking, the Zonal Chairman of the APC in Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Augustine Muomaife, challenged party members who had reservations about the APC’s chances of winning the 2027 election to openly state their concerns.

He described the stakeholders’ meeting as crucial to the party’s preparations for the election and to the campaign for the election of Senator Uche Ekwunife as the APC’s candidate for Anambra Central.

According to Muomaife, Ekwunife had demonstrated capacity during her previous periods of representation in the National Assembly, adding that her record in public office was one that party members and constituents could assess.

“We should go back to our wards and mobilise our people to vote for Uche Ekwunife and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.
“Election is local at the ward level. Election is won and lost at the local levels,” he said.

Muomaife therefore urged stakeholders, ward leaders and party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation, reconcile differences within their respective structures, and work collectively to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
