Okeakpu Vows to Restore Njikoka’s Glory, Drive Soludo’s Vision Forward

Mayor-elect for Njikoka local government area of Anambra State, Hon. Ikechukwu Okeakpu, has pledged to uphold the progressive ideals of Governor Charles Soludo, by promoting grassroots development, security, education and healthcare development, among other things that will improve the welfare of the people.

Hon. Okeakpu stated this recently, while addressing newsmen shortly after receiving his Certificate of Return (CoR) from the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) in Awka, the state capital.

While commending Gov. Soludo for championing good governance that resulted in the victory of APGA candidates as Mayors and councillors in the 21 local government areas and 326 wards across the state, Okeakpu pledged that he would deepen Soludo’s vision and giant strides in his own local government area.

He pledged to place priority on rural development, education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, agriculture and youth development.

He further thanked his teeming supporters, and pledged not to take the mandate for granted.

“Receiving this Certificate of Return is not just a personal achievement; it is a testament to the collective will of my people. I want to express my profound appreciation to every single voter who placed their trust in me, as well as my dedicated campaign team and all those who supported our vision for a thriving Njikoka LGA.

“To me, my election as Mayor is about affirming the commitment of Njikoka people to progress, unity, and sustainable development. I am truly honored, and assure that I do not take this responsibility lightly,” he said.

He extended olive branch to his opportunity, saying that he would work with all that place Njikoka first.

“Njikoka is our home, and our destinies are intertwined. Together, we will work towards a future that leaves no one behind,” he said.

Earlier, while issuing certificates to the successful Mayors and councillors, chairman of ANSIEC, Mrs Chinelo Genevieve Osakwe,
urged the newly elected officials to prioritise development and good governance in their localities.

She commended the electoral process that ushered in the new local government administration, and promised to make improvements, where necessary, in future elections.
