As the November 8 gubernatorial election in Anambra State draws closer, renowned business mogul and native of the state, Chief Joseph Ukeji, has publicly affirmed Governor Charles Soludo’s achievements and pledged his full support for the governor’s re-election bid.

Chief Ukeji, widely known as J.I. Ejison of Ejison International Ltd, made this declaration during the 40th anniversary celebration of Ogbaru Main Market near Onitsha, where traders also officially endorsed Governor Soludo for a second term.

Speaking at the event, Chief Ukeji praised Soludo for his foresight and commitment to the development of Anambra State, noting that the governor had a clear vision for the state even before assuming office.

He commended Soludo for successfully translating those plans into tangible accomplishments during his first term.

He particularly lauded the governor’s efforts in combating fetish practices such as “Oke-Ite” and addressing the rising culture of quick wealth among youths, which he described as a major contributor to crime.

According to him, these interventions have significantly contributed to restoring social values and order in the state.

Highlighting Soludo’s infrastructural strides, Chief Ukeji pointed to the transformation of Okpoko community, praising the governor for providing much-needed amenities.

He emphasized that recognizing good work is an encouragement for more, and for that reason, he  gave his unequivocal endorsement for Soludo’s second term.

“Building a better Anambra is a shared responsibility. Ndi Anambra must choose wisely who leads them forward. The majority of our people have consistently shown strong support for Soludo’s re-election,” he stated.

Chief Ejison added that, in his view, Soludo’s second term is a foregone conclusion due to the governor’s outstanding and visible accomplishments.

He also took the opportunity to commend Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, the President-General of Ogbaru Main Market, for his leadership and transformation of the market. Ukeji noted that Ochiogu openly listed his achievements, and no one contested them.

“What Chief Ochiogu is doing here is evident and undisputed. I am proud of him. My interest in Ogbaru Main Market stems from my investments here and the trust I have in Chief Ochiogu. Since he assumed leadership, the market has enjoyed peace and stability,” Ukeji added.

In his remarks to journalists, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu revealed that the market’s 40th anniversary was an opportunity for traders to officially throw their support behind Governor Soludo’s re-election.

He explained that his own achievements in the market are part of an effort to mirror Soludo’s broader transformation agenda for Anambra State.

“Our endorsement aligns with our collective aspiration for a better Anambra and Nigeria. Governor Soludo’s record in security, infrastructure, and governance speaks for itself,” Ochiogu said.

He assured the governor of the traders’ continued support and called on others to rally behind Soludo in actualizing his vision for the state.
