Soludo’s Wife Restocks Healthy Living Pap Banks in 21 Anambra LGAs

The wife of the Anambra State Governor and founder of the non-governmental initiative Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo has restocked the Nonye’s Healthy Pap Banks across all 21 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the official ceremony held in Awka to mark this phase of the programme, the governor’s wife commended local health workers,particularly local government health officers and ward officers across the 326 wards in the state—who have overseen distribution and maintained programme records.

She noted that since the programme’s inception in August 2024, over 12,000 packs of the pap have been produced and distributed, with a recovery rate of over 50 percent. 

This, she emphasized, has significantly reduced child malnutrition in Anambra State.

Mrs. Soludo also urged health workers to extend their reach further, stressing that the programme’s objectives remain unmet as long as there are children in need of the supplement who have yet to receive it.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike,who also serves as the Coordinator of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative in Anambra State,credited the swift recovery of children who consumed the pap to its complete nutritional value and specialized production process.

In their respective goodwill messages, the Anambra State Coordinator of the World Health Organization, Dr. Mohammed Bonos, and the traditional ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Michael Idigo, praised the initiative as well-conceived, affirming that good nutrition is essential for a healthy population.
