The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping and brutal murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha, after the collection of a ₦14 million ransom from her family.
The arrests were made on May 28, 2025, as part of the Command’s renewed commitment to thoroughly pursue criminal investigations and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects identified as Monday Egbe (32) and Kenneth Nnoga (28) were apprehended at a hideout in a neighbouring state after days of intensive surveillance and investigation.
Ikenga stated that the suspects were allegedly involved in the abduction and killing of the victim, whose lifeless body was discovered on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi Road.
“The victim was found dead with her eyes blindfolded, shortly after the kidnappers had extorted ₦14 million from her family in ransom,” he said.

He assured the public that the investigation would be pursued to its logical conclusion, with all responsible parties brought to justice.
