As Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, prepares to launch his campaign for the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election, the Ikemba Front,an influential APC support group in the state has significantly expanded its support base.

In a statement, the group’s National Coordinator, Sir Arinzechikwu Awogu, announced that over 700 members from all 326 wards across Anambra State will converge in Awka, the state capital, on Friday, June 6, for a strategic meeting aimed at consolidating their growing support for Ukachukwu.

Awogu said  that it has become necessary to mobilize both members and the broader Anambra electorate ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) formal lifting of the ban on public campaigns, scheduled for June 10, 2025.

According to a memo addressed to members, the expanded meeting will take place at the group’s National Secretariat in Awka.

Awogu noted that the group’s presence in all 5,720 polling units across the state offers a significant strategic advantage to the APC and its candidate in the upcoming election.

Meanwhile, INEC is expected to publish the final list of governorship candidates on June 9, with official public campaigning set to begin the following day, June 10.

Sir Awogu also disclosed that Prince Ukachukwu is currently leading in statewide opinion polls, positioning the APC candidate as the frontrunner in the race for the governorship.
