I Don’t Need Native Doctors to Win 2025, Soludo Fires Back at Critics

Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, has categorically denied allegations that he consulted a native doctor in relation to his reelection bid.
In a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, the state government dismissed the claim as entirely false and politically motivated.
“For the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of the general public, the video clip currently being maliciously circulated and misrepresented as evidence of a native doctor consultation was, in fact, taken during an official government engagement with Anambra-based content creators,” he said.
Aburime said that the event, facilitated by the Special Senior Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, was organized to strengthen collaboration between the state government and the creative industry.
According to him,the initiative aligns with Governor Soludo’s broader commitment to fostering and supporting Anambra’s creative economy.
“During the interactive session, content creators were given the opportunity to showcase their talents, raise questions, and express concerns about the industry’s growth in the state. As part of the presentations, one content creator performed a ‘native doctor’ skit a common comedic genre in Nigerian entertainment to demonstrate his creativity to the Governor and other officials present. It was purely an entertainment performance, not a spiritual consultation of any kind”Aburime explained.
The Press Secretary described it as deeply unfortunate that political opponents would fabricate and propagate such a narrative from an innocent entertainment performance, with the intent of misleading the public.
“Rather than resorting to frivolous spiritual consultations,” “Governor Soludo has remained focused on tangible development. He has continued to demonstrate a clear commitment to economic diversification through strategic investments in Anambra’s creative and entertainment sectors.”Aburime said.
He cited the recently commissioned SOLUTION FUN CITY project as a practical example of such investment efforts.
Aburime further clarified that Governor Soludo does not require the endorsement of a native doctor to secure reelection.
He said soludo relies solely on the support of Ndi Anambra, earned through his track record and ongoing implementation of the SOLUTION AGENDA a blueprint aimed at transforming Anambra into a livable and prosperous homeland.
Aburime said government, therefore, called on Ndi Anambra, as well as media outlets and social media users, to disregard the misinformation surrounding the video and urged the public to verify information before sharing or amplifying it.
“Governor Soludo remains firmly committed to the development of Anambra State and will not be distracted by the antics of desperate political actors who prefer falsehood over constructive engagement,” he said .
