Champion Newspapers, one of Nigeria’s oldest and most respected media establishments, has honoured De Imperial Philanthropic Family with the 2024 award for Most Outstanding Philanthropic Organisation in Nigeria.

De Imperial Philanthropic Family, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), was founded with the singular purpose of uplifting humanity through sustained philanthropic efforts and community development initiatives.

The prestigious award recognises the organisation’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact across Nigeria, particularly through its focus on education, healthcare, and community empowerment.

A frontrunner in grassroots philanthropy, De Imperial Philanthropic Family continues to lead in initiatives aimed at promoting educational opportunities, improving healthcare delivery, and fostering social welfare.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the President of De Imperial Philanthropic Family, High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike (Eze Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’Anwu Ojoto), described the honour as a validation of the organisation’s relentless dedication to national development.

“This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts of our organisation in promoting education, healthcare, and social upliftment across Nigeria,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to transforming lives and uplifting communities, emphasizing that their mission is anchored in the values of compassion, integrity, and service.

Dr. Nwabunike highlighted one of the organisation’s most impactful initiatives,its education-focused scholarship scheme.

“We proudly launched our educational programme in 2023 with a half million scholarship grant for Junior Secondary School students in Southeast Nigeria. In addition, we recently unveiled a ₦50 million scholarship grant targeted at the best-performing JAMB students nationwide for 2025,” he explained.

He expressed profound gratitude to Champion Newspapers for the recognition, and extended appreciation to all individuals and partners who have supported the organisation’s vision over the years.

“This award inspires us to continue our philanthropic mission with even greater passion and commitment. Our pledge remains unchanged: to serve, to inspire, and to be agents of meaningful change in Nigeria. Thank you for believing in our vision,” he added.
