13 Suspects, Including Notorious Kidnappers, Escape from Police Custody in Nasarawa

Thirteen suspects, including several linked to kidnapping and homicide, have escaped from police detention in the Nasarawa State Area Command.

According to police sources, the escape occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday when the suspects broke through the rear wall of their cell. The detainees were being held by the officers in charge of the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism units.

The fugitives include:
Jamilu Abdulsalam , theft and kidnapping

Abdullahi Yahaya theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Usman Yerima theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Abba Musa theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Idris Hussaini theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Abu Amu theft and kidnapping

Usman Hassan theft, intimidation, and attempted kidnapping

Hussaini Sani theft and kidnapping

Ibrahim Shuaibu theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Hamza Abubakar theft, kidnapping, and culpable homicide

Usman Ibrahim (a.k.a. Tecno) theft, grievous bodily harm, membership in an unlawful society, and culpable homicide

Abdullahi Muhammed held under court order

Efforts are currently underway to re arrest the escaped suspects.

In response to the breach, the Cell Record Officer, duty officer, cell guard, and the supervising officer on inspection rounds have been queried and are being held accountable pending further investigation.
