Anambra 2025: Umunnachi Community Endorses YPP Guber Candidate Sir Paul Chukwuma

The Umunnachi community in Dunukofia Local Government Area has thrown its full support behind the Young Progressive Party (YPP) gubernatorial candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, and his running mate, Uzu Okagbue, ahead of the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.

The endorsement took place during a well-attended gathering at the Umunnachi Civic Centre on Saturday. The event saw the presence of key community groups including Ndi Ichie Umunnachi, the Umunnachi Improvement Union, Umunnachi Women Union, Ndi Nze Umunnachi, Iyom Society Umunnachi led by Chief Mrs. Ngozika Njelita, and the Umueze cultural dance troupe, among others.

In his welcome address, the President General of Umunnachi, Arch. Frank Okonkwo, described the occasion as historic, noting it was the first time the civic centre had been filled to capacity. He praised Uzu Okagbue for his dedication to community development and public service, stating:

“Uzu is someone who has consistently demonstrated leadership and commitment to the public good. His contributions to the growth of our community are well recognized.” he stated.

During the occasion,Uzu Okagbue, the YPP deputy governorship candidate, addressed the gathering to formally announce his candidacy alongside Sir Paul Chukwuma.

“I came to inform Ndi Umunnachi that your son is on the ballot as the running mate to Sir Paul Chukwuma, the YPP governorship candidate,” he said.

The highlight of the event was a passionate endorsement speech by Dr. Oliver Onwughali, Ichie Ikemba, which drew widespread applause. The community concluded the event with prayers led by Chief Ikechukwu Nwachuya, Onowu Umunnachi, affirming their collective support and commitment to the YPP ticket in the upcoming election.
