Anambra North Monarchs Confer “Olu Atu Egwu” on Governor Soludo, Declare Unwavering Support for Re-Election

The seven local government areas of Anambra North Senatorial Zone converged on Saturday at the Otuocha Township Stadium gathered to honor the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, in a grand declaration of support for the governor’s second-term bid under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In a symbolic and culturally significant gesture, the traditional rulers of the zone conferred on Governor Soludo the revered chieftaincy title “Olu Atu Egwu Nke Nbu”, signifying his courageous, visionary, and transformative leadership.
The rally drew a massive crowd comprising lawmakers, government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women groups—all united in their endorsement of the Soludo administration.
The overwhelming presence and enthusiastic chants reflected widespread appreciation for the governor’s achievements across sectors.
According to the monarchs and organizers, the conferment of the traditional title and the gathering itself were clear affirmations of Anambra North’s collective resolve to return Soludo to office, in continuity of the “Solution Agenda” that has gained traction across the state.
In a joint welcome address, the Chairman of the Planning Committee and former Anambra State Commissioner for Works, alongside Chief Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Secretary of the Committee and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor, affirmed that all 99 wards in Anambra North remain fully committed to the Solution Agenda and pledged unwavering support for Soludo’s re-election.
Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze; APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa; and former Federal House of Representatives Member, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, all delivered resounding endorsement pledges.
They highlighted Governor Soludo’s impressive track record in infrastructure development, education reform, healthcare improvement, youth empowerment, and enhanced security. They described his administration as a new benchmark for good governance in Anambra State.
Notable political leaders at the event,include Hon. Innocent Ojike (Ojicam), Member representing Oyi Constituency; Hon. Emma Nweke, Mayor of Oyi LGA; and Hon.
Tony Nwora Nweze, Mayor of Onitsha North echoed the dominant sentiment of grassroots loyalty and committed to mobilizing voters in their respective domains to secure a landslide re-election victory for the governor.
An emotionally moved Governor Soludo expressed deep gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him, describing the “Olu Atu Egwu” title as both humbling and a renewed call to leadership and public service.
“As we march toward the future, let us do so with one voice, one heart, and one vision for a greater Anambra that works for all,” he declared.
He reiterated the importance of unity, continuity, and adherence to APGA’s zoning principle as foundational to political stability and inclusive governance in the state.
Soludo also reaffirmed his commitment to building a livable, prosperous, and smart Anambra homeland, emphasizing that the best is yet to come.
Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief of Staff to the Governor; Chief Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), Chief Protocol Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff/SSG Convener; Barr. Theodora Igwegbe (Mini), Head of Service, Anambra State; Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka, Commissioner for Power and Water Resources; Barr. Antony Ifeanya, Commissioner for Petroleum; and Igwe Sir Benneth Izuchukwu Emeka, traditional ruler of Umueri and Chairman of APGA in Oyi Local Government. They all praised the unity and solidarity demonstrated by Anambra North and reaffirmed their dedication to the Solution vision.
