The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Jephat Ezechukwu Nweke, on Friday, paid the mandatory N50 million political campaign license fee imposed by the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), enabling him to officially kick off his grassroots campaign.

AA becomes the fourth political party to pay the N50 million compulsory levy required by the state government before any political party can commence campaign activities.

The Managing Director/CEO of ANSAA, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, who had announced the enforcement of the campaign permit fees during a press conference two weeks ago, warned that the agency would invoke the relevant laws to prosecute any politician, contestant, or political party that displays outdoor advertisements without first paying the prescribed fee.

Ozo Nweke, who is the fourth candidate to obtain the license despite describing the fee as illegal stated that with this development, his campaign posters, handbills, billboards, branded vehicles, and other promotional materials would soon be visible across all 326 electoral wards in Anambra State and beyond.

The security expert and accomplished entrepreneur, represented at the event by his running mate, Mr. Obi Elvis Anayochukwu, alongside some party loyalists, expressed confidence in his chances of victory in the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8.

He said that he would not allow anyone or anything to prevent him from reaching the grassroots.

According to Nweke, the contest is essentially between Action Alliance and all other parties, but in the end, the people of Anambra will make their voices heard by electing a candidate with a genuine passion for national development, security, and the upliftment of the masses.

“We are confident of winning the election. AA is not new. Ozo Nweke is a well-known figure,a household name across Anambra State and beyond. We are hearing directly from the people about who they believe their next governor should be. We are well-positioned to transform Anambra State for the better, starting with the security of lives and property, attracting both foreign and local investors, among other priorities,” he added.
