Arrested two Illegal revenue collectors in Onitsha

Security operatives at the Bridge Head Market have apprehended two individuals posing as revenue collectors and extorting money from barrow pushers.
The suspects were arrested near the Tools/Ogbogwu junction within the market area while attempting to flee the scene. They were immediately taken to the Bridge Head Market union office for interrogation.
Upon arrival at the union office, the two suspects both young men were handed over to the Chairman of the market’s caretaker committee, Hon. Chinedu Ezekwike.
Expressing his outrage, Hon. Ezekwike, popularly known as Akwaeke Umuchu, condemned their actions and reminded them that the Executive Governor had officially banned the collection of daily tolls from barrow pushers, vulcanizers, and hawkers.
He criticized the suspects for flagrantly defying the governor’s directive.
Following a thorough interrogation, Hon. Ezekwike warned the suspects that they would be handed over to the police for further legal action.
