Stakeholders Back Igwe Emelobe as Soludo Presents Staff of Office

It was a day of jubilation, celebration, and heartfelt encomiums as the long-awaited seal of authority was finally bestowed, marking the end of the search, selection, election, and enthronement process for the Eze Okpoko II of Oba. The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, officially issued the Certificate of Recognition to Igwe Engr. Sir Chinedu Augustine Emelobe, the newly recognized Traditional Ruler of Oba community in Idemili South Local Government Area.

Speaking with our correspondent, the President General of Oba Patriotic Union (OPU), Engr. Anthony Uzo Ejiofor, expressed deep gratitude to God and extended appreciation to Governor Soludo for his intervention and support. He urged the people of Oba to remain law-abiding and to rally behind the new traditional ruler, who, he said has good intentions and plans for the development of both the people and the community.

“I give all glory to God for what He has done for Oba and Anambra State. We continue to express our profound gratitude to our amiable Governor, Charlie Nwamgbafor,Prof. Chukwuma Soludo Oluatuegwu, the Solution Governor, who has always demonstrated leadership and fatherliness.We, Ndi Oba, are truly joyful today for all the support and intervention. Governor Soludo has lived up to his word. He has proven to be a man of integrity.

Today marks another joyful chapter in the history of Oba under the administration of Prof. Soludo. He has given the Certificate of Recognition to our Traditional Ruler, who emerged successfully on March 15, 2025, as EzeOkpoko II of Oba,His Royal Majesty, Igwe Engr. Sir Chinedu Augustine Emelobe.

Since his emergence, Oba has been on a positive trajectory. We now look forward to even greater prospects during his reign. We pray for God’s guidance, immense wisdom, and a long and remarkable reign for him.

We call on all Oba people to support him wholeheartedly. Let us make his administration successful by submitting to constituted authority and operating within the tenets of our constitution. In doing so, we anticipate progress, unity, and lasting development for Oba and Anambra at large.”he stated.

Also speaking, the Oba Community Women Leader, Inyom Oba, expressed gratitude and optimism of the good intentions of the monarch.

“We thank God for everything. He is faithful and has answered the prayers of Oba’s wailing women.Jehovah, who gave us HRM Engr. Sir Chinedu Augustine Emelobe, will continue to use him for good. The past few years have been full of crises, but we are confident that Oba will not only return to its former glory but also surpass it.

Truly, we are in a new Oba, and the God who has started this good work will perfect it. The women are overjoyed that our prayers have been answered. As wailing mothers, we believe God will use him to sanitize Oba in every respect because the community had been polluted.”she added.

In his remarks, Hon. Ogonna Ndozie, 2nd Vice President of the Oba Patriotic Union, described the emergence of Igwe Emelobe as a divine answer to seven years of prayer:

“It is well with Oba people. Igwe Emelobe is the people’s choice. He is a first-class traditional ruler with capacity. Even from the time of his emergence, those with evil intentions began relocating out of Oba. It’s no longer business as usual.

Now that the symbol of authority—the Certificate of Recognition—has been given to him, more plans and projects will begin to unfold. We expect to see significant developmental strides that will position Oba as a center of innovation in Africa.”he added.
