We Will Massively Vote Soludo Back, Say Anambra Local Government Workers

Local government workers across Anambra State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the re-election bid of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the upcoming November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election.

The declaration was made during the Anambra Local Government Service Commission Week, held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.

According to the workers, they intend to replicate the same level of solidarity that was extended to previous governors, pledging to stand firmly behind Governor Soludo’s second-term campaign.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Vin-Ifeanyi Ezeaka, praised the unity and commitment of local government staff across all 21 local government areas.

He stated their critical role in grassroots development, stating that the event was organized not only to celebrate their service but also to send a clear and unequivocal message to the Governor: “You are doing well.” He openly endorsed Soludo’s second-term ambition.

Delivering the keynote address on the theme “Enhancing Effective Service Delivery in the Local Government System: The Solution Agenda,” Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Pro-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, commended the high level of coordination among the workers. He urged them to embrace professionalism and innovation, while also preserving fundamental Igbo cultural values. Prof. Odinkalu stressed the importance of passing these values on to future generations to sustain identity and integrity.

Representing Governor Soludo at the event, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Sly Ezeokenwa, described local government workers as “the lifeline of government”

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to their welfare and highlighted ongoing plans to fully digitalize the local government system. According to him, effective service delivery hinges on equipping the workforce with the right tools and training.

“Everything technology—technology everywhere,” he declared, echoing the administration’s digital transformation mantra.

Hon. Azubuike Okoye, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the Commission Week, expressed satisfaction with the successful turnout and organization of the event. He noted that the workers’ unanimous endorsement of Governor Soludo reflects their recognition of his transformational leadership over the past three years.

Okoye said that Governor Soludo is the best Anambra has ever had and called on Ndi Anambra to intensify grassroots mobilization in support of the ‘Solution Governor.’

“There is no vacancy in the Light House for any funny opposition.”he said.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of an award to Mrs. Rita Chike-Obuekwe, Head of Local Government Administration, Awka South LGA, and State Woman Leader.

She was honored for her exemplary service to the state.

Receiving the award, Mrs. Chike-Obuekwe expressed deep gratitude to the Commission and pledged her continued commitment to driving improved governance and service delivery.

Other dignitaries in attendance included the Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor, and Rt. Capt. Casmir Nwafor from Orumba North Council Area. Both reaffirmed their strong support for Soludo’s re-election bid and pledged to sustain a productive and enabling administrative environment in their respective councils.
