Suspected Ritualist kills Pregnant Nurse in Anambra

A man identified as Chiemelie Oborji, also known as Obitex, had allegedly murdered a pregnant nurse in what is suspected to be a ritual killing.

This unholy incident happened in Umueri Village, Ogbunike, in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The suspected was also said to have attempted to cover up his evil act by dumping the body of the pregnant nurse in a pit in a bush behind his compound.

According to video clips currently trending on social media, shows some community youths dragging out the victim’s body from the bush after it had been recovered.

A voice note was heard from the background condemning the act and declaring the suspect wanted by the entire community.

According to reports, the suspect, Obitex, invited the pregnant nurse for treatment and provide urgent medical help to his ailing mother who he claimed became very sick at midnight (around 1.am). However, as soon as she arrived, she was brutally attacked and gruesomely murdered by the suspect. Her body was later found dumped inside a pit near the suspect’s compound.

Unconfirmed reports from some of the residents who recovered her corpse suggest that the her body was mutilated, with certain vital parts missing, hence the strong suspicions of ritual killing. Although, this claim is yet to be officially confirmed, many believe that the motive behind the gruesome act may not be unconnected with ritualistic intentions.

As at the time of filing this report, the suspect, Chiemelie, is yet to be apprehended, as he has reportedly fled the area .
The angry residents and security operatives have also intensified efforts to locate and apprehend him, even as his image are currently being circulated on social media as the manhunt continues

When contacted by this reporter, the Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said he was not aware of the incident, and pledged to check out for details.
