Amaka Obi In Battle With Cabal Seeking Her Downfall in Nnobi
Amaka Obi
By Raymond Ozoji
The Executive Chairperson of Idemili South Local Government Area in Anambra State, Hon. Mrs. Iyom Amaka Obi,who recently earned a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Highstone Global University in Texas, USA is currently facing fierce opposition from a powerful cabal in Umuru village, Ebenesi, Nnobi community.
This group, reportedly displeased with her emergence as council chair, has vowed to render the local government ungovernable.
Their resentment stems primarily from the fact that Amaka Obi was not their preferred candidate. More so, sources indicate that their frustration deepened after she refused to serve their selfish interests or run the council under their control.
The latest smear campaign by this cabal involves hiring social media propagandists to discredit her academic qualification.
They allege that her PhD is fake and that Highstone Global University does not exist, let alone possess the accreditation to confer such a degree.
However, independent investigations by this reporter, corroborated by publicly available online records, confirm that Highstone Global University in Texas is a legitimate, certified, and accredited institution offering distance learning programs globally.
Hon. Mrs. Iyom Amaka Obi rightly utilized this platform to earn her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management.
This is not the first time the Nnobi cabal has targeted her. During her nomination as Transition Committee Chairman prior to her election as the substantive Executive Chairperson their hostility was already evident.
Since then, they have continued to devise schemes aimed at undermining her leadership. But despite their plots, divine grace and public support have consistently shielded her from their machinations.
Driven by what many describe as unchecked lust for power, the cabal has not only directed animosity toward Amaka Obi but also extended their hostility to the traditional ruler of Nnobi community. Their belief seems to be that no good should come from any source unless it is through them.
It has thus become necessary to set the record straight regarding Amaka Obi’s academic credentials. The attacks on her doctorate appear to be rooted in jealousy and a sense of intimidation over her remarkable personal and professional growth. These attempts to discredit her only underscore the desperation of those who feel threatened by her success.
As the only female among the 21 local government chairpersons in Anambra State, Amaka Obi has demonstrated exceptional capacity in public administration.
Her performance has not only distinguished her as one of the best-performing council leaders in the state but also as a role model and inspiration to countless women aspiring to leadership roles.
Her achievements as Chairperson of Idemili South speak volumes. Through her initiatives, lives have been transformed, and many residents have been lifted out of poverty, hunger, and unemployment. Her inclusive leadership style and open-door policy have endeared her to the people of Idemili South and beyond.
Under her administration, Idemili South has witnessed significant transformation across sectors: infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare, road development, ecological management, human capital development, and youth empowerment. She has also sparked a political renaissance at the grassroots level.
It is therefore unsurprising that she holds the revered chieftaincy title of Iyom Ife-Abata—“the woman who brought Idemili South into the limelight in her time.”
Rather than continue to disparage her hard-earned academic accomplishment, her detractors would do better to acknowledge her success and extend their congratulations. She has earned every accolade through hard work, vision, and dedication.
Who God has blessed, no one can curse.
Hon. Mrs. Iyom Amaka Obi remains a shining star and no amount of scheming from the Nnobi cabal can extinguish her light.
