The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, alongside Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim on Friday  stormed Nnewi and Aguata to mobilize support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial candidate, Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu, ahead of the upcoming Anambra South Senatorial elections.

The rallies, held at the Nnewi Triangle and Aguata Local Government Headquarters respectively, attracted large crowds of APGA faithful, community leaders, and well-wishers who endorsed Nwachukwu’s candidacy.

At the rallies, Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of electing leaders who are deeply rooted in community values and committed to development.

“Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu embodies the qualities we need in leadership,” Soludo stated.

He noted that Nnewi South and Ihiala have never before produced a senator.

“Ukpor and Nnewi South supported the late Ifeanyi Ubah during his contest. Now, it is time to support Nnewi South. Show your support by voting massively for Chief Nwachukwu. The late Ifeanyi Ubah was elected on the platform of YPP,a faction of APGA in 2019. Today, APGA has returned as one united family to reclaim its rightful place,” he added.

Governor Soludo further stressed that Anambra is APGA land, affirming that the party is committed to transparent, open, and credible elections.

He described APGA as a people’s movement and called on the electorate to vote and ensure their votes count.

Speakers at the rallies included Commissioner for Industry Mr. Christian Udechukwu; Mayor of Nnewi North, Mr. Echezona Azodo; Member representing Nnewi North at the State House of Assembly, Mr. Ikedi Orji; and the State Chairman of APGA, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye. Others present were Dr. Chibuike Offorbike, Tony Muobike, Barrister Sylvia Ifemeje, Chief Titus Anagbogu, and Engineer Dom Okafor.

All echoed the Governor’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for unity among the people of Nnewi North and Aguata to ensure a successful campaign.

Chief Nwachukwu, visibly moved by the overwhelming support, expressed his gratitude to the communities and pledged to prioritize the needs of the people once elected.

The event also included a one-minute silence in honor of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

As the elections draw closer, momentum behind Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu continues to grow, fueled by widespread community support and the backing of influential leaders in the region. With a focus on unity and progress, his campaign aims to inspire hope and instill confidence in the electorate ahead of the crucial local government elections.

Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim accompanied Governor Soludo to the respective rallies, canvassing for votes and support.
