2025: Don’t Allow Politicians to Buy Your Conscience, AA Guber Candidate Nweke Warns Christians

Jeff Nweke

Gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Jeff Nweke, has declared that the prevalence of cultism and thuggery in the state is a direct result of misgovernance.

According to him, if the government had provided the necessary infrastructure and social security, insecurity would not have taken root.

He argued that even when governments construct roads, such developments are meaningless if they do not positively impact the lives of the masses.

Nweke urged Christians to participate actively in politics to drive positive change in the state and across the country.

He identified vote-buying as a major obstacle to good governance in Nigeria, warning voters about the grave consequences of exchanging their votes for money.

“A government may build good roads, but if such projects do not improve the lives of the people, it is a waste,” he said.

He encouraged the Christian community to mobilize for positive change instead of merely complaining about poor governance.

Nweke emphasized that any money spent on vote-buying will inevitably affect the funds available for providing basic infrastructure for the public.

He added that citizens who accept money to vote should not blame elected officials for the lack of social security, infrastructure, or other public services.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service held at Hear The Word of God International Church, Nkwelle, Awka, Nweke stated that politics and governance are meant to serve humanity.

He warned that mistakes made in the upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election could set the state back significantly.

“We are here for thanksgiving,” “but I must tell you that during this election period, politicians will go around campaigning, and some voters will expect to receive ₦1 million each and return home happy. But let me tell you, that kind of happiness is fleeting — it doesn’t last.”

“The money you collect today determines the share of basic infrastructure you will forfeit. By accepting it, you’ve traded your social security. You lose the moral ground to hold politicians accountable for failing to provide good road networks, healthcare, and quality education.”

“As we take our campaigns before Almighty God, let us pray not just for good leaders, but for voters who will reject money politics and vote-buying, and instead support leaders who will bring genuine improvement to people’s lives,” he added.

Nweke further urged eligible voters to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) so they can fulfill their civic duty.

“While you attend rallies and listen to politicians, please make sure to register and collect your voter’s card. That is your tool as a law-abiding citizen and an eligible voter,”

“You cannot claim to support any candidate if you do not have a voter’s card. Being unregistered means you will not be part of those who will install populist governance in Anambra State.”he said.

Ozo Jeff Nweke explained that he chose to hold his thanksgiving service at Hear The Word of God International Church because it was the only church that stood by the people of Awka during the height of cult-related violence in the city.

The church’s pastor, Apostle Steve Chibueze, prayed that God would grant Nweke’s aspirations and allow his dreams to come to fruition.
