Police Arrest Six Cult Suspects, Recover Dangerous Weapons, Hard Drugs in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested six suspected cultists following a raid on a known criminal hideout at 7th Mile, Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area.

During the operation, police operatives recovered dangerous weapons and substances suspected to be illicit drugs.

The suspects have been identified as:Olisaemeka Izuchukwu, male, 21,Isioma Chisom, male, 22,Chinonso Izuchukwu, male, 20,Chinaza Isioma, male, 24,Onyekwelu Miracle, male, 19,Mrs. Chinenye Eloka Okeke, female, 35

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command confirmed that the operation was carried out by officers of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, on August 12, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m. Acting on credible intelligence, the team stormed the location and effected the arrests.

The statement further disclosed that the operatives recovered one locally fabricated Beretta pistol (without a magazine) and quantities of illicit drugs, including Mkpuru Mmiri (crystal meth), during the raid.

Commending the swift action of the officers, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against cultism, drug trafficking, and other forms of crime across the state.
