Anambra Police to Prosecute Three Suspects for Defiling Minors

The Anambra State Police Command is set to charge three suspects to court for defiling minors in separate incidents across the state.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects were arrested at different locations, and evidence has been secured for their prosecution.
The Cases Case 1.At Oba Division, Ihechiluru Okorie allegedly defiled a 14-year-old girl in his shop, confessing to the crime,Case 2: Eziowele Division, Chidubem Udem, 28, allegedly defiled a 5-year-old girl at her grandmother’s house, with medical examination confirming the defilement and Case 3 at Ogidi Division,Kalu Ilo, 30, allegedly defiled a 13-year-old mentally challenged girl, who is a neighbor’s daughter.
He said all suspects are in custody and will be charged in court on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has strongly condemned the acts and assured the public of diligent prosecution to secure justice for the victims.
The Commissioner also urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to be vigilant and report any incidents of sexual or gender-based violence to the nearest police station.
The command remains committed to protecting the rights of children and vulnerable persons across the state.
