ANIAS President: Let Your Conscience Guide Your Vote At By Elections

The President of the Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State (ANIAS), Prince Chigozie Nweke, has called on members of the association to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly during the forthcoming by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025, in Anambra South Senatorial District and Onitsha North I State Constituency.

Addressing journalists in Awka, Prince Nweke emphasized the importance of a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process.

He urged all members of ANIAS to exercise their civic rights conscientiously by voting according to their convictions, while strictly adhering to the rule of law.

“Every vote counts, and every voter has a responsibility to contribute to the integrity of the process,”

“I encourage our members to support candidates of their choice without engaging in violence, intimidation, or any action that may compromise the credibility of the election.”Nweke stated.

The ANIAS President noted that the association has consistently advocated for peace and social stability in Anambra State, and has been collaborating with relevant authorities to enhance security and combat criminal activities that threaten democratic development.

He reiterated the association’s zero-tolerance stance on electoral malpractice, urging members to resist any temptation to participate in vote buying, ballot manipulation, or other illegal activities.

“This by-election presents another opportunity for us to show our commitment to democracy, good governance, and civic responsibility. Our conduct must reflect the values we stand for as a progressive and law-abiding community,” Nweke added.
