The Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) has concluded plans to hold a mega rally in support of Governor Charles Soludo’s second-term bid.

The campaign rally is scheduled to take place on August 23, 2025, at Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha North Local Government Area.

Speaking to journalists in his office, the President-General of Ogbaru Main Market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, stated that the event would serve as a celebration of Governor Soludo’s achievements during his first tenure.

According to Ochiogu, traders across the state have unanimously endorsed Soludo for a second term and are fully committed to ensuring his victory in the upcoming November 8 gubernatorial election.

Chief Ochiogu, who also serves as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the rally, described Soludo’s accomplishments as “overwhelming” and more than sufficient to warrant re-election.

He cited Okpoko, a community where Soludo began developmental projects immediately after assuming office, as a clear example of the governor’s commitment to transformation.

“Soludo’s achievements in his first term are enormous. Take Okpoko, for instance,he commenced work there right after his inauguration. Today, the community boasts improved road networks, street lighting, healthcare facilities, pipe-borne water, and other essential amenities. These have significantly increased the value of property in the area, including higher rents and land prices.”he stated.

Ochiogu popularly known as Ezeocho Udo of Ogbaru Main Market noted that prior to Soludo’s administration, traders frequently suffered losses due to poor road infrastructure.

He commended the current administration for constructing roads that connect directly to various markets, thereby facilitating commerce.

Backing up his claims with statistics, Ochiogu noted that “Before Soludo’s administration, a plot of land in Okpoko was priced between ₦5 million and ₦20 million. Today, that same land sells for between ₦150 million and ₦200 million. Likewise, shop prices in Ogbaru Main Market have risen from ₦5 million–₦10 million to ₦100 million–₦150 million due to the infrastructural boom.”

He further noted that Soludo is currently constructing a critical road linking Ozubulu community to other parts of Ogbaru Local Government.

He emphasized the importance of this road, which connects multiple communities and enhances regional trade.

Ochiogu confirmed that all preparations have been finalized for the upcoming rally in honour of Governor Soludo.

He expressed strong optimism about Soludo’s re-election, citing the governor’s visible infrastructural development and economic reforms across the state.

“Our forthcoming rally will serve as a living testimony to what Soludo has accomplished for traders and Anambra State at large. A second term will allow him to complete ongoing projects and initiate even more.

”We, the traders, have greatly benefited from his administration. This election is payback time. We will support him, vote for him, and ensure his victory in appreciation of his transformational leadership.”hr added.
