The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has pledged to strengthen the commercial and industrial capacity of Ogbaru Local Government Area.
Sir Chukwuma made this commitment on Thursday during a stop in Ogbaru as part of his Joy Campaign tour.
According to him, Ogbaru is a strategic and vital part of Anambra State, serving as a hub for both industrial and commercial activity.
He further described the area as a key agricultural zone, especially known for yam production, and emphasized its importance to Anambra’s status as an oil-producing state.
“With the right focus, Ogbaru can attract more businesses and industries, which will, in turn, create jobs and drive economic growth,” Chukwuma said.
He promised that, if elected, his administration would provide strong support for agriculture in Ogbaru to boost yields and improve livelihoods. He also assured the people that oil exploration activities in the area would be managed in a way that benefits the local population.
“We are also aware of the recurring flooding challenges in Ogbaru. Our government will partner with federal and international climate initiatives to tackle this issue effectively,” he added.
Chukwuma commended the people of Ogbaru for their continued support and loyalty, expressing confidence in a brighter future for the state.
“Together, we will fix Anambra, and it will work for all of us,” he said.
