YPP Guber Candidate Chukwuma Vows to Restore Security in Ihiala as Massive Crowd Welcomes Campaign Train
The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, Sir Paul Chukwuma, was on Saturday warmly received by a massive crowd in Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State.
According to a statement issued by his media team, the enthusiastic crowd commended Sir Chukwuma for what they described as his progressive and people-centered vision for the state.
The event, held as part of his ongoing campaign tour, underscored growing grassroots support for his candidacy.
Addressing the rally, Sir Chukwuma decried what he called the systemic neglect of Ihiala by the current Anambra State administration, stating that the area has been abandoned to insecurity and infrastructural decay.
“The people of Ihiala have been left at the mercy of criminals who have, for the past three years, disrupted everyday life across various communities in this LGA,” Chukwuma said.
He revealed that he had recently visited some of the most affected areas in Ihiala and assured residents of his commitment to restoring normalcy.
“Just yesterday, I assured Ndi Ihiala that we shall return their LGA to them,secure, peaceful, and prosperous. Ihiala is too strategic to be left in chaos,” he stated.
Sir Chukwuma pledged that if elected governor, his administration would prioritize security across Anambra State, with Ihiala as a focal point of early intervention.
“By the grace of God, come March 2026, once I am sworn in, my first task will be to restore security in Ihiala and across other neglected parts of the state. We will not allow any part of Anambra to remain a haven for lawlessness,” he declared.
He also acknowledged the efforts of YPP leaders in Ihiala for their organizational strength and welcomed new members who joined the party during the rally.
“We thank our party leaders in Ihiala and all the new members we received yesterday. Our assurance is simple: under a YPP-led government, Ihiala will thrive again,” Chukwuma added.
