Okpoko Community Denies Involvement in Ritual Practices

The President General of Okpoko Community in Ogbaru LGA, Anambra State, Sir Charles Ezeokafor, has clarified that the community does not engage in ritual practices or harbor ritualists.
He attributed the community’s safety to its robust security network.

A viral video revealed a gruesome incident where a trader, allegedly from the community, lured a fellow trader to his house, killed him, and mutilated his body. The suspect, who had not completed the necessary security checks, was arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

Ezeokafor described the incident as a shock and an isolated case, emphasizing that the community has been proactive in maintaining security.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.

The police have confirmed the incident and are investigating. The suspect, who attempted to poison himself, has confessed to the crime, citing the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The victim’s body has been deposited in the mortuary, and the suspect is receiving medical attention.

The incident has caused fear among residents, with tenants vacating the building where the crime occurred. The landlord, Chief Okey Udensi, expressed regret and shock, stating that such an incident had never occurred in the area before.
