Commercial motorcyclists in Anambra State have declared their full support for Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election bid scheduled for November 8.

At a rally held on Saturday in Nnewi, thousands of Okada riders from across the state gathered with their motorcycles, chanting solidarity songs to demonstrate their commitment to mobilize en masse in support of Soludo’s second term.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Chairman of the Motorcycle Transport Welfare Association, Comrade Jude Udegbe, stated that the association has unanimously resolved to back Governor Soludo as a show of appreciation for not banning their operations.
“Past governors in Anambra tampered with our business and even attempted to ban Okada operations across the state. But when Soludo came into office, he asked us if we could help curb the infiltration of criminals into the Okada business. We assured him that we would not tolerate criminal elements among us.
He promised not to disrupt our operations and he has kept that promise. That is one of the major reasons we have decided to support him for a second term,” Udegbe said.
He further noted that beyond respecting their means of livelihood, Soludo has made notable developmental achievements that justify his continued leadership.
Addressing members at the Obi Abubor Nnewichi Hall, Udegbe highlighted over 31 completed road projects across the state’s three senatorial zones as part of Soludo’s accomplishments.
“Some of the completed roads include:Abba Junction–Nawgwu–Isuaniocha–Achalla–Ikem–Nando Road,Nnokwa–Adazi-Enu–Akwaihedi–Awka-Etiti Road,Igwe Orizu Road, Nnewi,Nkwo Nnewi–Nkwo Oraifite Road,Okpuno-Eze–Teaching Hospital Road, Nnewi,Ekwulobia Flyover, Ekwulobia–Nnobi Road and Afor Nkpor–Eke Nkpor Road, among others.
“There’s no going back on our decision. We will mobilize our individual families and communities to vote for Soludo,” he added.
