Ebonyi Community ‘Ngbo/Izhiangbo’ Celebrates Yam Festival in Onitsha

The Ngbo/Izhiangbo community in Ebonyi State gathered in grand style at the Holiday Resort, Onitsha, Anambra State, to celebrate their annual Yam Festival.

The event brought together men and women from all walks of life, including dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers, in a vibrant display of culture and unity.

Speaking at the celebration, the President-General of Ebonyi Indigenes in Anambra, Hon. Moses Ofoke (popularly known as Mos Frank), described the festival as a unifying tradition that fosters peace and solidarity among the people.

“It is a great thing for the people of Ebonyi to come together and celebrate this wonderful festival once a year. I urge all Ebonyians to always remember that we are one people, and the most important thing is to be our brother’s keeper,” Ofoke said.

Also addressing the gathering, the Deputy Director of Sasa, Hon. Uwada who represented the Director, Hon. Monday Nwokoye extended warm greetings and goodwill to the community.

He encouraged attendees to maintain good conduct and emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect within the state.

The cultural celebration, rich with traditional dances, displays, and communal sharing, underscored the resilience of the people in preserving their heritage while reinforcing unity among Ebonyians residing in Anambra.
