Ndi Igbos in Abuja Lament Factionalism Among Members

The Igbo community residing in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has expressed deep concern over the increasing factionalism among its members, describing it as a disservice to the Igbo nation.

Speaking under the umbrella of the Igbo Community in Abuja, leaders of the group revealed that efforts are at an advanced stage to reconcile the various factions and foster unity among Ndi Igbo in the capital.

According to Engr. Ikenna Ellis Ezenekwe, the leader of the Igbo community in Abuja, who spoke to reporters said,“We are aware of the numerous factions among Igbo living in Abuja, and it is clear that these divisions have not served our collective interest.This disunity has weakened our sense of purpose as a people, which is why unification has become imperative.We have been reaching out to our brothers and sisters, urging them to recognize the importance of unity and work together for the common good.”

Also speaking, Chief Paschal Chinkata, former Treasurer of the Igbo Community in Abuja, emphasized on the timeliness of the unification effort.

He added:“As residents of Abuja, we are committed not only to the development of the South East but also to contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the Federal Capital Territory”
