Soludo Bags Three International Awards at Global Power Forum in USA

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has received three prestigious international awards at the 2025 Global Power Forum, held alongside the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, USA.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, the awards presented to Governor Soludo include,the African Public Service Excellence Award,the African Governor of the Year Award and A Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina
According to Aburime, the South Carolina House of Representatives honoured Governor Soludo with a certificate commending his distinguished career.
He stated that the governor’s citation highlighted his accomplishments as a professor of economics, economic adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The commendation also recognized Soludo’s pivotal role in elevating Nigeria’s position as a financial powerhouse in Africa.
The award ceremony drew high-profile global dignitaries, including former President of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Kikwete; Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip Davis; President of Dominica, Sylvanie Burton; former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar; and Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr. Judith Suminwa Tuluka, among others.
Governor Soludo also delivered a keynote address at the forum titled, “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities—The Anambra State Example.” His presentation showcased the transformative initiatives of his administration, positioning Anambra State as a model of innovation and development in Africa and the Caribbean.
Aburime noted that the international recognition accorded to Governor Soludo underscores Anambra’s growing global visibility, driven by progress across multiple sectors.
He added that the awards signify that under Soludo’s leadership, Anambra State is on an upward trajectory, earning both continental and international acclaim.
