The leadership of the Nando United Brothers Association (NUBA), in collaboration with other prominent stakeholders of the Nando community, has formally endorsed the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for a second term in office.

The endorsement was announced during a solidarity visit to the governor on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the new Government House, known as The Light House, in Awka, the state capital.

During the event, Chief Martin Chukwuka (Akajiugo Nando), President of NUBA, said the decision to support Governor Soludo’s re-election bid was based on what he described as “undeniable achievements and transformational leadership.”

“Since assuming office, Prof. Soludo has demonstrated rare courage, exceptional wisdom, and unwavering commitment to repositioning Anambra on the path of progress,” Chukwuka said.

He added that Governor Soludo’s governance style proves that politics can be a platform for genuine service, not personal gain.

“We have watched with admiration as the governor tackles insecurity with bold reforms, restoring discipline in governance, expanding infrastructure, promoting industrialization, and prioritizing education and youth empowerment.

“The ongoing road construction projects across the state, improvements in healthcare delivery, urban renewal initiatives, and his pursuit of a clean, green, and livable Anambra are all testaments to his visionary leadership,” he said.

Describing Soludo as “a man of character, integrity, and intellect,” Chukwuka emphasized that the governor’s international reputation continues to attract opportunities to Anambra.

“His first tenure has convincingly shown that he is the kind of leader Ndi Anambra have long yearned for. It is only logical and wise to allow him continue the great work he has started,” he added.

Chukwuka urged the people of Anambra to unite behind Soludo to ensure continuity and sustainability in the state’s development trajectory.

Earlier, Hon. Obinna Chris Emeneka, a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, introduced members of the delegation to the governor. He noted that the group was composed primarily of NUBA members and other progressive citizens of Nando.

He stated that the purpose of the visit was not only to commend the governor for his strides in governance but also to assure him of Nando’s full support in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

“We are confident that Nando will be delivered entirely to APGA. We also ask, Your Excellency, that when victory is achieved, Nando will be remembered in your development agenda,” Emeneka said.

Also speaking, the President General of the Nando Development Union (NDU), Chief Nkachikwulu Nwakor, thanked Governor Soludo for the rehabilitation of Nando Water Works, health centres, and other community-based projects.

He affirmed the community’s appreciation of the governor’s developmental impact and expressed hope for continued inclusion in future projects.

Delivering the final remarks on behalf of the delegation, Chief Onyeaka Uwadiegwu reaffirmed Nando’s unwavering support for Soludo.

He praised the governor’s accomplishments, noting that much had been achieved despite limited resources.

“Your Excellency, we believe in you and what you stand for. You have done so much with so little, and that is a mark of true leadership,” he said.

A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of a cheque of fifteen million naira (₦15,000,000), along with branded caps and T-shirts, to support Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign.

Among the delegation were Hon. Obinna Emenaka, former member of Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Martin Chukwuka, President of NUBA; Chief Nkachikwulu Nwakor, President General of Nando Development Union; Chief Sunday Obinze, President General, Ikem Ivite Development Union.
