The people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Local Government Areas on Thursday overwhelmingly endorsed the candidacy of Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, 2025.

Sir Paul Chukwuma expressed his satisfaction with the warm reception he received during his campaign tour, describing it as an “infectious welcome beyond words.”

He stated:“Our tour yesterday, hosted at the DCC Nnewi, witnessed a huge turnout. We were also honored by the presence of Obi Nnewichi, His Highness Obi George Onyekaba, who boldly and emphatically declared his full support for the YPP in the November 8 election.

We appreciate the support of the enterprising people of Nnewi. The turnout clearly demonstrated that Nnewi remains a formidable stronghold for the YPP.

To strengthen the commercial activities in Nnewi, we will prioritize security. Our administration will restore security within three months.

We observed that the roads in Nnewi are in a deplorable state, which is deeply unfortunate. Repairing these roads will be an urgent and top priority for our government.

Finally, we will implement a policy framework to sustain the apprenticeship system. This framework will also include provisions for youths without higher education and will establish a venture capital fund of ₦200 billion exclusively for our business community. This initiative aims to restore our competitive advantage in commerce, industry, and innovation”.
