Hope for Needy: Anambra Professionals Announce Student Scholarship

The League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) has officially launched the Future Forward Scholarship Program, an educational support initiative aimed at assisting academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students of Anambra origin in accessing higher education.

According to LAP, the program targets candidates who have successfully passed their Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations but are unable to proceed to university due to financial constraints. Described as one of the organization’s flagship Social Responsibility (SR) projects, the initiative seeks to offer renewed hope to young Ndi Anambra and strengthen the state’s human capital through quality education.

Eligibility criteria include:Proof of indigent status,Strong WAEC and JAMB results,A testimonial of good conduct from the applicant’s school or documented evidence of extracurricular involvement,Confirmation of Anambra indigene status from the applicant’s Traditional Ruler or Town Union President General ,A one-page personal statement by the applicant and A supporting letter from a parent or guardian

Interested candidates must complete the online application form at www.leagueofanambraprofessionals.org. All enquiries should be directed to leagueofanambraprofessionals@gmail.com. The application deadline is October 31, 2025.

Speaking on the initiative, LAP President, Sir Nnamdi Obi, remarked:“The Future Forward Scholarship Scheme is part of our commitment to empowering promising youths who, despite their potential, might be denied the opportunity of higher education. By investing in these young people, we are investing in the future of Anambra State. We are shaping a generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers.”

Sir Obi, a Pharmacist and the CEO of Embassy Pharmaceuticals, a leading drug manufacturing company in Nigeria, further emphasized:“This scholarship is more than financial aid—it is a lifeline for brilliant students who might otherwise be excluded from the educational system. It is our modest contribution toward securing the future of Ndi Anambra through education.”

LAP has called on churches, schools, traditional rulers, and community leaders to actively disseminate information about the scholarship to ensure it reaches the most deserving students across the state.
