Founder of Gregory University Uturu Mourns Late Dr. Uma Ukpai, Describes His Legacy as Impactful
The Founder of Gregory University Uturu, Prof. Gregory Ibe, PhD, OFR (Enyi Abia), has paid tribute to the late renowned evangelist, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, describing his legacy as enduring and profoundly impactful through his service to Christianity.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Prof. Ibe said the late Dr. Ukpai brought hope to the hopeless and embodied God’s love through a life of selfless service.
“I join the global community in mourning the loss of a spiritual giant, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, whose impact on global Christianity will remain etched in our hearts for generations. For over six decades, he proclaimed the Gospel with fervor, touching millions of lives across the world,” Prof. Ibe stated.
According to him, Dr. Ukpai’s unwavering dedication to evangelism, dynamic teaching, and prophetic ministry inspired countless individuals including himself to deepen their faith and commitment to the body of Christ.
“As the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, he reached the unreached, gave hope to the hopeless, and demonstrated God’s love through consistent acts of sacrificial service,” he said.
Extending his condolences to the bereaved family, especially Dr. Ukpai’s wife, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and their children, Prof. Ibe offered his heartfelt sympathies:“Your loss is not yours alone; the global Christian community shares in your grief. May God’s comfort and peace envelop you during this difficult time.”
To the people of Abia State and Nigeria at large, Prof. Ibe added:“We celebrate Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s legacy of faith, humility, and service. His contributions to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the global Christian community will never be forgotten.”
