President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his victory in the just-concluded Anambra State gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued on Monday, President Tinubu described Professor Soludo’s re-election as a testament to his visionary leadership and the remarkable progress Anambra State has recorded under his administration.

“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State,”

“The overwhelming mandate he received in Saturday’s poll makes him only the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term in office.”the President said.

President Tinubu also commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and successful conduct of the election.

He noted that Professor Soludo’s re-election “reflects the confidence of the people in his capacity to continue steering Anambra towards sustainable development and effective governance.”

According to the President, Governor Soludo popularly known as Mr. Solution has demonstrated that knowledge, when applied with integrity and purpose, can transform governance.

“He has shown that academic brilliance can translate into practical leadership, anchored on accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources,” Tinubu said.

The President recalled his visit to Anambra State in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration. “I was deeply impressed by the strategic thinking behind those projects and the developmental vision driving them. That visit remains a remarkable and memorable experience for me,” he stated.

President Tinubu praised Soludo for bringing “discipline, grace, and intellectual depth” to governance, adding that under his leadership, Anambra is truly living up to its motto as ‘The Light of the Nation.’

He urged the Governor to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents in the interest of unity and collective progress.

“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support and look forward to continued collaboration between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government,” the President said.

He further remarked that the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), an opposition party, underscores the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy.

“This outcome demonstrates the vitality of our political system and reaffirms that in our democracy, the will of the people prevails. Victory for any progressive and hardworking leader cannot be denied,” he said.

President Tinubu also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible and transparent election.

“I urge INEC to sustain these standards and continue improving its processes, so we can further strengthen and deepen our democratic institutions,” he added.
