NUMW Congratulates Soludo on Landslide Victory

The Chairman of the National Union of Mine Workers (NUMW), Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Onyah Kelvin Chimbuzor, has congratulated His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Executive Governor of Anambra State, and Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Deputy Governor, on their resounding victory and re-election for a second term in office.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Union and the Heavy Equipment Operators (Caterpillar Operators) section, Comrade Onyah described the re-election of Governor Soludo and his deputy during the November 8, 2025 governorship election as a reaffirmation of the people’s unwavering confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)-led administration.

Comrade Onyah also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the credible, transparent, and peaceful conduct of the election, and for issuing Certificates of Return to the Governor and his Deputy on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

He particularly praised INEC for the timely deployment of personnel and materials, which contributed to the seamless and violence-free poll across the state.

Speaking in Awka, the state capital, Comrade Onyah stated that the overwhelming victory of the APGA-led government is a reflection of the people’s appreciation of Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership and transformative governance.

“For the past three and a half years, Governor Soludo has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to the growth and development of Anambra State,”

“Under his stewardship, we have witnessed massive road infrastructure cutting across all 21 Local Government Areas and three senatorial districts, the construction of strategic bridges, the building of a new Government House, the opening of new towns and markets, and significant improvements in security and urban renewal. Projects such as the Solution Fun City and several others underscore his administration’s dedication to turning Anambra into a modern, livable, and economically vibrant state.”he said.

Comrade Onyah further noted that Anambra has, under Soludo’s leadership, become one of the fastest-growing state economies in the South East geopolitical zone.

He commended the administration for restoring peace and security through innovative local security networks such as Agunechemba and Udo Ga Adi, which have drastically reduced incidences of violent crimes, kidnappings, and high-profile killings across the state.

“Today, Ndi Anambra can sleep with their two eyes closed because the government has restored law, order, and stability in our communities,” he said.

The NUMW leadership also lauded the security agencies for their professionalism, courage, and coordination during the election. Comrade Onyah particularly commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security operatives for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

He extended appreciation to the electorate for their civic responsibility, maturity, and commitment to democracy, urging them to continue supporting the government in its quest to consolidate on its achievements.

While praying for God’s protection and wisdom upon Governor Soludo and his deputy as they embark on their second term, Comrade Onyah called on them to remain magnanimous in victory by carrying all stakeholders along in governance and policy formulation.

“We encourage the Governor and his Deputy to continue to lead with inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. As the new term begins, all hands—both at home and in the diaspora—must be on deck to sustain the tempo of progress and bring more dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra,” he added.
