Police Arrest Man Who Threatened to Destroy Police Formations in Anambra, Recover Firearm

 

The police in Anambra State have arrested one Oluchukwu Anyaoku, who allegedly issued violent threats and vowed to destroy all police formations in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

His arrest followed the circulation of a viral online video in which the suspect was seen allegedly making the threats.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the command’s spokesman, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the police operatives attached to the Obosi Division acted immediately after intercepting the video on 2 December 2025.

According to him, the suspect was traced, arrested, and taken into custody for questioning.

Ikenga further stated that operatives recovered a firearm and a cutlass from the suspect.

Meanwhile, preliminary observations suggest that the suspect may require professional medical evaluation, and the appropriate procedures are already being followed.

Consequently, the case is being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for a comprehensive investigation and a review of all available information gathered so far.
