CP Special Patrol Recovers Weapons, Cash from Robbery Suspects’ Vehicle in Anambra
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command’s Commissioner of Police (CP) Special Patrol Team have recovered arms, cash, and vehicles from suspected criminals who fled during a security operation in the state.
The recovery was made during an aggressive, intelligence-led security operation conducted in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area.
Items recovered include one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated single-barrelled rifle, an ash-coloured Toyota Highlander with registration number UWN 680 PE, a suspected stolen cash sum of Six Hundred and Thirty-Six Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira (₦636,700.00), as well as other incriminating materials.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the recovery followed the abandonment of the suspects’ operational vehicle after it was involved in a road accident while attempting to evade arrest during a hot pursuit by police operatives.
SP Ikenga disclosed that the suspects escaped from the scene but are currently being tracked, adding that intelligence-driven operations and tactical surveillance have been intensified across the area and adjoining locations to ensure their arrest and prosecution.
He assured that further developments regarding the case would be promptly communicated to the public as investigations progress.
The Police Public Relations Officer further reaffirmed the Anambra State Police Command’s unwavering commitment to proactive policing, crime prevention, and the maintenance of law and order, while assuring Ndi Anambra of the Command’s resolve to safeguard lives and property across the state.
