FG Road Projects: South East Grateful to Tinubu, Says Umahi

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has said that the people of the South East geopolitical region are grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the numerous ongoing federal road projects in the zone.
He made this statement in Enugu State at the weekend while inspecting ongoing road projects in the region, including the Onitsha–Enugu and Enugu–Abakaliki expressways, which he said have reached advanced stages of completion.
The minister added that the region, now experiencing renewed development under President Tinubu’s administration.
According to him,the zone had suffered neglect over the years.
He stressed that the projects executed and those still being executed by the President in the zone are visible, tangible, and durable.
Umahi, however, called on the people of the region to vote en masse for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
He maintained that the region and Nigerians at large stand to gain more from the President’s second term if he is re-elected.
According to him, “The South East is on the rise, courtesy of President Tinubu’s numerous executed and ongoing road projects, and we are grateful to Mr. President.
“We, the people of the South East, will reciprocate these outstanding gestures in 2027 by voting for President Tinubu’s second term.
“Go and see what Mr. President has done. They are very visible, tangible, and durable. We are seeing it; we are being recognised, and we will never go back again,” he said.
The minister stated that no amount of hate speech or criticism could diminish the impact of the work the President has done for the people of the South East.
“Again, to the people of the South East, having driven on these roads myself today, I have every reason to speak boldly and tell our people that the President has done quite a lot for us.
“Today, we are no longer last among the six geopolitical zones. We may not be first, but the quality of what Mr. President is doing will continue to speak for him and has repositioned us.
“We, the people of the South East, will continue to pray for, support, and appreciate Mr. President for the good work he is doing—not only for the South East but for all Nigerians.
“I also want to say that the people of the South East and Nigerians in general have more to gain from Mr. President if he is re-elected. This time around, we must be wise,” he added.
The projects inspected by the minister included the Emene flyover in Enugu on the route to the Abakaliki highway and the Channel Zero project.
The two ongoing flyover projects are designed to ease heavy traffic along the Enugu–Abakaliki corridor.
