Dr. Kene Igboebisi has stated that he would reposition Idemili North and Idemili South if elected a member of the House of Representatives.
Dr. Igboebisi is one of the leading aspirants for the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
According to him, his vision, if elected to represent the Idemili communities at the Federal House of Representatives, is to build a stronger and more prosperous Idemili North and South through effective and people-oriented representation.
Dr. Igboebisi, a foreign-based medical practitioner, made the disclosure during a strategic meeting with his media team held in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He said his agenda would focus on youth employment, quality education, improved healthcare delivery, and sustainable development.
He added that his ultimate goal is to usher in progress, create opportunities, and ensure that the voices of the people of Idemili are heard at the national level.
Dr. Igboebisi, who is regarded by many supporters as a potential game changer for Idemili North and South, cautioned communities against being deceived by politicians who distribute food items and small cash gifts during election periods.
“Every election season, the same politicians begin to share small quantities of rice and small envelopes of money. Some suddenly embark on palliative distributions everywhere. People who never cared before, who live in big houses and drive big cars, suddenly remember our towns and markets. But once the election is over, they disappear again,” Dr. Igboebisi noted.
He further emphasized that the rice would be consumed within a few days and the money would quickly disappear, while the suffering caused by poor leadership would remain for another four years.
Dr. Igboebisi is widely known as a community philanthropist who has used the Igboebisi Empowerment Foundation to support various community development initiatives. Through the foundation, he has promoted transparency and modernization in local civic processes, including the President-General electoral process, and has contributed to cultural celebrations such as the Ito-Ogbo festival alongside the town’s traditional leadership.
Through the foundation, he also established scholarship programmes and youth-focused initiatives aimed at empowering young people across the community. However, he recently stepped aside as the Chief Executive Officer of the Igboebisi Empowerment Foundation in order to focus fully on his political aspirations.
Among his notable achievements is a collaborative effort that helped ensure that all schools in Obosi became UNICEF-assisted schools—an initiative that later expanded to several neighbouring communities.
