The President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, announced the appointment during the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)/Summit of the Anambra State Chapter, held at the International Convention Centre, Awka, in the presence of council members and fellows of the Institute.
Dr. Neliaku charged the new executives to hit the ground running in order to achieve the overall objectives of the chapter.
He warned that failure to perform within the stipulated time would attract accountability, stating, “If after one year they fail to perform, they will refund us one year.”
The oath of office was administered by Dr. Ahmad Sajoh, fnipr, Council Member and Chairman of the Chapter Support and Empowerment Committee of NIPR.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Ulogu, a Fellow of the Institute and a lecturer in the Department of English at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, pledged to deliver on her mandate for the overall good, sustained growth, and increased visibility of the Anambra State Chapter of NIPR. She expressed appreciation to the NIPR President for the confidence reposed in her through the appointment.
Dr. Ulogu, a committed member of the state chapter, succeeds Prof. Angela Nwanmuo, whose eventful two-term tenure spanning four years ended on Friday, March 13, 2026.
The new Public Relations Officer, Ogemdi Ozoemenam, is a seasoned journalist with Odenigbo 99.1 FM, Obosi.
He previously served as Financial Secretary and Treasurer of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.
In a vote of thanks, Chief Uche Udedibia, a Fellow of the Institute for 26 years, described the AGM as the best in the chapter’s history since the era of the old Anambra State.
He urged the newly inaugurated committee to build on the successes of the 2026 AGM and Summit for even greater achievements.
Earlier, the immediate past Chairman of the chapter and former Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Prof. Angela Nwanmuo, thanked members for their support throughout her tenure from March 2022 to March 2026, and encouraged them to extend the same support to the new executive.
A major highlight of the event was the automatic presidential ticket granted to members of the 2026 AGM/Summit Committee to participate in the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled to be hosted by NIPR from November 15 to 21, 2026, at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, and other designated venues.
