Anambra First Lady Calls for Urgent Health Wake-Up Across Nigeria
The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to reexamine their roles in achieving a healthy society.
The wife of the Anambra State Governor made this call on Tuesday as the global community commemorated World Health Day.
According to the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, everyone must reassess his actions toward building a progressive and inclusive health system that caters to the needs of all.
“As I always emphasize, health is the greatest wealth. It is, in fact, the most important measure of a thriving society. Therefore, building a solid health system, one that guarantees inclusion,is a necessity at all times, not a choice. This message is not for the government alone. Of course, it is expected that the government takes the lead, but the process requires a collective vision,” she said.
She further noted that in Anambra State, under the Solution Administration, residents have witnessed a unique shift in the health sector.
According to her, in Anambra, health is treated as a practical commitment, driven by the right intentions and prioritized to serve the ordinary citizen.
“My NGO, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, is leading an unprecedented campaign that has significantly transformed the health consciousness and habits of our people. Our statewide weekly workouts, along with consistent health education and outreach programs, have made a substantial impact on homes and communities.
“As we celebrate this global event, let us remember that health is not a one-time effort. It is the result of simple but meaningful daily actions that determine good or poor health. Take care of yourself at all times. Be mindful of what you consume. Health is irreplaceable. Happy World Health Day,” she added.
