Anambra First Lady Felicitates Nurses on International Nurses Day

The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, has commended nurses in the state for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to healthcare service delivery.

Mrs Soludo gave the commendation on Tuesday in her goodwill message to commemorate the 2026 International Nurses Day celebration.

According to her, “Today, we celebrate the unsung heroes whose compassion and dignity speak louder than words — our nurses.

“Behind every recovering patient is a dedicated nurse who stayed awake through the night, offered reassurance in moments of fear and anxiety, and provided care with patience, strength, and love. Their service goes beyond medicine; they bring hope, comfort, and humanity to healthcare and society at large,” she said.

Mrs Soludo, who is the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, stated that International Nurses Day provides an opportunity to honour the dedication, sacrifice, and resilience of nurses in Anambra State and beyond.

She noted that nurses continue to play critical roles in saving lives, strengthening families, and upholding the dignity of communities through their selfless service.

“Your commitment continues to save lives, strengthen families, and uphold the dignity of our communities every single day.

“Thank you for all you do. The world is healthier, kinder, and safer because of you.

“Happy International Nurses Day,” she stated.
