The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene, has described the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as a symbol of hope and a beacon of transformational leadership for Nigerians.
Speaking with journalists at his country home in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Anyamene, popularly known as Ezenwa Obosi, said Peter Obi represents the kind of visionary, accountable, and people-oriented leadership that Nigeria urgently needs at this critical stage of its development.
According to him, Obi has consistently distinguished himself as a leader of uncommon integrity, competence, prudence, and patriotism, earning the trust and admiration of millions of Nigerians across ethnic, religious, and political divides.
“His Excellency, Peter Obi, has distinguished himself as a leader of uncommon integrity, competence, prudence, and patriotism. At a time when many Nigerians had lost faith in public leadership, he inspired a national movement anchored on accountability, transparency, service, and measurable results,” Anyamene stated.
He noted that Obi’s unwavering commitment to nation-building, youth empowerment, quality education, economic productivity, job creation, and good governance continues to resonate strongly with Nigerians who desire a prosperous, secure, and inclusive nation.
Anyamene further observed that Peter Obi’s political philosophy has shifted national discourse from politics of patronage and personality to politics of performance, responsibility, and development.
“Beyond politics, Peter Obi has demonstrated that leadership is about sacrifice, character, discipline, and putting the people first. Through his advocacy and example, he has awakened civic consciousness, particularly among young Nigerians, and rekindled the belief that our nation can still attain greatness through purposeful leadership and collective responsibility,” he said.
Describing Obi as a “beautiful bride” in Nigeria’s political landscape, Anyamene said the former Anambra State governor continues to attract widespread support because of his credibility, track record, and consistent advocacy for prudent management of public resources.
He emphasized that Obi’s ideals align closely with his own vision for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, stressing that competent leadership, fiscal discipline, transparency, and people-centred governance remain essential pillars for sustainable development and effective representation.
“Like Peter Obi, I believe that public office is a sacred trust that must be used to improve the lives of the people. Leadership must be measured by its impact on citizens, not by political rhetoric or personal gain,” Anyamene added.
He called on Ndi Idemili and Nigerians at large to support leaders with proven capacity, integrity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to public service, noting that the country’s progress depends on electing individuals who place national interest above personal or partisan considerations.
“Together, we can build a better Idemili, a stronger Anambra, and a greater Nigeria. The time for transformational leadership is now, and the future belongs to leaders who are willing to serve selflessly, uphold accountability, and work tirelessly for the common good,” Anyamene concluded.
