Gov. Ododo Donates 10 Electric Patrol Motorcycles to FRSC, Becomes Patron of Special Marshals in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has donated 10 electric patrol motorcycles to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to strengthen traffic management, enhance enforcement operations, and improve rapid response to road emergencies across the state.
Governor Ododo made the donation during his investiture as the Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in Kogi State by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, at a ceremony held in Lokoja.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Corps Commander and Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja, Osondu Ohaeri, the investiture marks another significant milestone in the Corps’ ongoing efforts to institutionalise road safety governance and deepen collaboration with state governments across Nigeria.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja, underscored the growing partnership between the FRSC and the Kogi State Government in promoting safer roads and protecting lives along one of Nigeria’s busiest transportation corridors.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Corps, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed described the donation as a strategic investment that would significantly enhance the FRSC’s operational effectiveness in Kogi State. He noted that the electric patrol motorcycles would improve the Corps’ mobility, strengthen traffic surveillance, and boost emergency response capabilities across the state.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Ododo dedicated his investiture to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in recognition of what he described as the President’s visionary leadership, unwavering support for the Federal Road Safety Corps, and sustained commitment to strengthening institutions responsible for safeguarding the lives of Nigerians.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving road safety, reducing traffic crashes, and enhancing public safety through stronger institutional partnerships.
In his remarks, the Corps Marshal commended Governor Ododo for demonstrating exemplary leadership by accepting the responsibility of serving as Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in Kogi State and for making a tangible contribution to the Corps’ operational capacity through the donation of the electric patrol motorcycles.
He added that the governor’s gesture reflects a strong commitment to road safety and serves as an example of the type of partnership required between governments and critical public institutions to achieve safer roads and more efficient emergency response services nationwide.
